“But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.” -Rocky Balboa
PCS (Permanent Change of Station) season is here. All over the world, military families are packing up and moving to new duty stations. This task can feel insurmountable when you are in the thick of it. There’s a seemingly endless to-do list, more so if it’s an overseas move. The best way to stay on top of everything and go the distance with strength is to make lists and tackle them one step at a time. While preparing for a move, staying strong and going the distance to do the job well pays off in the end.
When I am feeling overwhelmed during a PCS move, I try to keep in mind that there’s a set date when the packers arrive and no matter how much preparation I do, once the packers arrive, it’s out of my hands and I can just let it go. This mindset helps me to keep things in perspective.
One of the best hacks I’ve learned over the years is to keep certain items out of the household goods shipment so that I don’t have to go searching through boxes at the other end of the move and can use them immediately upon arrival at our next duty station. Pack these items in your car or put them in your air shipment.
- Kitchen Essentials
- Hardware for anything disassembled
- Toys (if you have little ones)
Moving can be overwhelming for anyone, military or not. Relocating is one of life’s major stressors. Starting early and following a To-Do List is crucial to minimizing anxiety. Make notes to yourself during the process so that you know what helped, and what did not help, and can be better prepared for your next move.

Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.
