The moment I’ve been waiting for finally came this afternoon at 3:00.
You are probably thinking, ‘what? Horatio came home over a week ago. What is she talking about?’
Drum roll, please….
Today, Horatio uttered the words, “I’m going to go outside and cut the grass.”
Words express a lot, but they cannot express the elation I felt knowing that my two year sentence to cutting the grass is over, complete, finito.
It’s not a big job, it takes only an hour, but the weight off my shoulders is immeasurable.
It’s great to have Horatio home, for more reasons than just the lawn, of course. Every day brings new reminders of what we have missed for the past 20 months. At the moment, we are still adjusting to our new normal. It is hard to readjust to the feeling that he is staying, it’s not just a week-long visit. We don’t have to cram all the family fun into a few days. We can sit back, relax, and enjoy the remaining days of summer.
You do the same!
