Fathead.com Sweepstakes for Military Families

Fathead.com is running a sweepstakes for military families every month from now through October 31, 2012.

The Salute to the Service Sweepstakes is a monthly sweepstakes that is open only to active duty service members and their immediate families.  Each month, five families will win a free custom Fathead.  The official rules can be found on their website.

The custom wall graphics are a great way for military families to celebrate and cherish their heroes and memories. They even have images from all of the services, like these:

Fatheads are movable, reusable wall-graphics that feature a high-quality vinyl and low tack adhesive that enables them to be moved from wall to wall with no surface damage.  This is key for military families who PCS (that’s military talk for ‘move’) every couple of years.  You’ll definitely want to take your fathead graphic with you when you move to your next duty station.  Seeing the picture on the wall in your new home will help your kids feel more at home more quickly.

My boys and I surfed the Fathead website, looking for one to decorate our rec room, and we chose the Death Star.  Everyone was very excited when it arrived on Monday.  I planned to put it up while the boys were at school the next day but when I read the directions on the website on Tuesday morning, I saw that a team of two is recommended for putting the REAL.BIG Fatheads up on the wall.  So I waited for my “help” to get home from school.

The Real.Big Fathead measures 50 inches by 50 inches, so we measured our space, first, to be sure the graphic would fit in the spot we chose.

The Fathead just out of the package. The yellow smoothing tool is shown resting on the image.

We took it to our chosen spot and followed the directions to slowly peal the graphic from its backing, applying gentle pressure and smoothing with the yellow smoothing tool (supplied with the large images) as we progressed.

The process took about 10 to 15 minutes.  We took our time to smooth as we went along, assuring we’d have no air bubbles.  When we realized we had some wrinkles, we just lifted the trouble spot from the wall and smoothed as we went, again.

Fathead is manufactured in the USA and based in Detroit, Michigan.  Fathead carries thousands of images and maintains over 500 license agreements with leading consumer brands across many industries and professional sports leagues.

Fathead is the Real.Big leader in officially licensed sports and entertainment graphics.  The site has fabulous images that give sports fans, movie buffs, art fans and more,  the opportunity to bring their favorite passion, inspiration or memories to life.
