Book Review: Nautical Alphabet

Being from a Navy family, I jumped at the chance to review Kate Fosson’s new book, Nautical Alphabet.

When I opened the package with the book, I saw right away that it would be a big hit with my 4 year old, Harold, and I was right.  He tossed his Star Wars book aside to go through the new alphabet book.

He is at the age when most kids love to see the letters of the alphabet in print with pictures, so this is perfect for him.  The book takes the letters and matches them with nautical themed words and pictures.  He really enjoys identifying the letter and saying the word that goes along with it.  He has already learned many new nautical words from the book.

Kate painted the stunning illustrations in watercolor.  They would make great framed artwork for a child’s room or playroom.  She also hand-lettered all of the words.

I highly recommend Nautical Alphabet to any Navy family and families who love the sea.  You will not be disappointed.

The book can be purchased at the great site, Etsy as well as at Amazon.
